JOB DESCRIPTION:
– Propulsion System (PRS) on site representative in Saltillo Plant, coordinating PRS on site resources on BEV and ICE programs
– Support the PRS Sub-System Technical Manager (SSTM) on onsite coordination of all PRS representatives
– Report to PRS and vehicle project organization
– Ensure that assembly operations respect adapted powertrain core team standards
– Contribute to resolution of technical facts identified during assembly
– Contribute to the identification of a solution fit for serial production and if needed a temporary one
– Pilot conformity review of vehicles of vehicles leaving the plant
– Specify, test, validate Propulsion Systems components for assigned vehicles families; analyze and solve parts-related failures; propose, validate and obtain cost reductions on these parts.
– Process documentation on changes or modifications to components from assigned vehicle families (Change Notices).
– Request and authorize required testing to systems, parts and components for assigned vehicle families to validate compliance on Design Requirements (Design Verification Plan & Report, DVP&R).
– Create and evaluate requests for component’s functional testing in assembly plants before implementation into normal production. (Production Evaluation Request).
– Release temporary approvals for part validation on assigned vehicle families. (Interim Approval Authorization).
– Analyze and solve functional and durability failures on components in assigned vehicle families. (GIMS).
– Standardize and benchmark components (performance, weight, cost efficiency).
– Create FMEA documents.
– Approve or reject documents for Temporary Substitution on components in Assembly Plant.
– Request prototype parts manufacturing to solve warranty issues.
– Create cost reductions proposals.
– Obtainment of product changes information, implementation dates, service and/or recall technical bulletins, Product Engineering standards, bill of material and Engineering graphs.
– Verify product manufacturing process before mass production release.
– Request and obtainment of concurrencies on: validations, temporary and definitive product deviations
– Coordinate DFMEAs and PFMEAs with suppliers.
– Support Pilot and Pre-series events in Assembly Plants.
DESIGN EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS:
– Electronic modules.
– Battery packs and electrification components
– Internal Combustion Engine / Electric Motor / Power Electronics accessories components.
– Internal and surrounding components from Internal Combustion Engine / Electric Motor / Power Electronics.
QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Electric, Electro-mechanical, etc).
– Previous experience: Preferably 5 years or more in automotive industry as Product Engineer or product development-related position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
– Solid knowledge in automotive vehicles and systems, assembly and manufacturing, part validations and automotive systems.
– Knowledge in statistics; testing, validation and failure solving in Automotive Industry or similar.
– Good skills to communicate and present ideas, as well as experience in basic software suites (Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Minitab, etc.)
– Computer-design software skill in NX and/or CATIA.
– Proactive, analytical, inquiring attitude; synthesis capability, team player.
– Disciplined and planning capacity.
OPTIONAL:
– DFSS Green Belt/Black Belt certified
– Reactive Green/Black Belt certified
